No Bikers Allowed!

Bikers, like many other groups, face a lot of prejudice and discrimination.  It it always amazing that people will take one look at the leather, the bike and, maybe, the long hair and decide that they know what we are.  Obviously, you cannot "look" like a biker and still be intelligent, or hold a good job, or be a productive member of society.  The common response is more like "I wonder if his parole officer knows where he is?" or "Quick, Susy, lock the doors and don't make eye contact with that scum."

It would never occur to them that they might be seeing an honest, law-abiding, productive member of society.  Hell, harleys have gotten so expensive that you have to have a good job to be able to afford one.

Most bikers I talk to don't really mind seeing this type of response from "normal" society.  Matter of fact, if the truth were known, we kinda get a kick out of their reactions.  That's part of the whole aura of being a real biker - we simply don't care whether those kind of people understand us, or like us or accept us.

So, the next time you see some man or woman show their distaste as soon as they see you, just remember - tomorrow night you are going out with their daughter!
